Investors & CEOs Meet at Climate Risk Summit at United Nations

Representatives managing over $10 trillion of funds gather to consider risks and opportunities from climate change

(CSRwire) NEW YORK, NY - Ceres and the United Nations Foundation will host hundreds of Wall Street leaders and institutional investors at the Investor Summit on Climate Risk at the United Nations on Thursday, February 14, 2008. Participants from around the world will discuss the far-reaching economic impacts of climate change, the responses of a growing number of U.S. and overseas investors, and the vast financial opportunities that energy efficiency and other technologies offer for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating economic growth.

Summit speakers will include:

# John Holdren, climate change expert and professor at Harvard University

# Diana Farrell, Director of McKinsey Global Institute

# Vinod Khosla, Founder of Khosla Ventures

# Peter Darbee, Chairman and CEO of PG&E Corp.

# Abby Joseph Cohen, Chief Investment Strategist at Goldman Sachs

# Russell Read, Chief Investment Officer at California Public Employees'' Retirement System (CalPERS)

# Nobuo Tanaka, Executive director of the International Energy Agency

# John Sweeney, President of AFL-CIO

The meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a full agenda can be found at Investor Summit on Climate Risk. The summit is a result of growing participation in the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), an initiative organized by Ceres, which now includes 60 institutional investors with assets totaling more than $4 trillion.
